ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential Oils are naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, and flowers of plants.

I know, when we hear the word "volatile" we think of easily angered or explosive. But what it actually means is something that is liable to change rapidly and perhaps unpredictably, (which fits if someone is prone to outbursts of anger,) but when referring to a substance, it means easily evaporated at normal temperature. Essential oils evaporate easily, and that is the aroma you smell with flowers, citrus rinds and other parts of plants. It is this fragrance that attracts bees and insects to insure pollination and which also repels some insects and other predators.

Essential oils have been used for centuries. They are mentioned in the Bible as holy anointing oil and remembering the Christmas story, they were part of the wise men's gifts to the baby Jesus. (Frankincense and Myrrh might have been in their original resin state, but we use the oils from these resins yet today.)

I believe in the safe, effective, and therapeutic use of high-quality essential oils and will include information and education on their value in my practice. Any safe and/or therapeutic use of essential oils is dependent on the quality of the oils used. Using the CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade quality protocol is important as is third party testing for purity.

I am a doTerra Wellness Advocate and personally use these oils. I am also currently working on earning an Essential Oil Coach Certification with Dr. Josh Axe's Essential Oil Institute.

There are numerous studies on the safe, effective, and therapeutic use of essential oils, but since all essential oils are not the same, you need to do your own research to determine your personal level of trust and comfort with using essential oils.
